About the Opportunity

Tomahawk Industries Ltd. is currently seeking Automotive HVAC & Fire Suppression Technicians and Entry-Level Helpers based in Edmonton, Alberta, with a future opportunity in Calgary. 

This role is perfectly suited to a hard-working mechanic, automotive technician who is looking for the autonomy and freedom to operate a fully-equipped service truck.

In this role, you will be responsible for carrying out skilled work, including: 

  • Installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining fire extinguishers both on and off site
  • Installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining A/C, fire suppression, and diesel fired engine heaters
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical troubles 
  • Safety assessments, invoicing & parts management
  • Keeping detailed log book for tasks
  • Maintaining parts inventory in truck
  • Ensuring all safety tickets are up-to-date
  • For helpers and apprentices: Assisting the technicians in the above tasks

More About You

To qualify as a Technician, you must have a minimum of one year field experience in a similar role and a strong general knowledge of practical automotive HVAC, commercial HVAC, and/or Fire Suppression experience.

To qualify as an Apprentice Helper, all we require is the desire and motivation to learn! 

As a Technician, candidates possessing an auto mechanic, HVAC and/or A/C and fire suppression journeyperson tickets are preferred, but not required. Apprentice levels are highly encouraged to apply.

Successful candidates should possess a strong desire for knowledge in A/C and fire suppression. Whether you're an Automotive/Heavy Duty Mechanic, HVAC Technician, or an apprentice just starting on your career, we will provide all relevant training needed to see you succeed in this role - three months on the job training based in Edmonton

After all the relevant training, successful candidates must also have excellent mechanical knowledge and the ability to complete all aspects of repair. Initiative and diligence will serve you well in this role, as well as well-spoken communication style and superior customer service skills. Self-motivation and self-discipline are both essential due to the autonomous nature of this role. 

About the Benefits

For Technicians and Apprentices, hourly wage range is $30-$40+ (negotiated based on skills and experience). In addition, you will receive a great range of benefits, including:
